ViewML™

Century Embedded Technologies set out to create the world's first open-source embedded web browser back in early 2000. Our goal was to develop a browser that was fully compliant with HTML 3.2, supported frames and forms, and included built-in SSL encryption - yet was small enough to fit in less than 1 Mbyte of ROM and required less than 4 Mbytes of RAM at runtime.

Century announced the availability of the ViewML web browser project on July 14, 2000. ViewML was quickly ported to numerous hardware platforms and dozens of operating systems and embedded Linux distributions.

Century Embedded Technologies continues to support ViewML, the worlds first open-source web browser, through enhancements, developer updates, and community-supplied extensions.

As the ViewML expert, Century Embedded Technologies offers complete engineering services that including custom development, porting, software development kits, and product support.

All ViewML distributions, including full source code, can be found on the official ViewML website.
