Upoading Kernel and RAMDisk files to the Assabet

  1. Connect the serial connection of the Assabet communications cable to your PC.

  2. Using a serial communications tool, such as minicom, establish a serial connection to the assabet using the following settings:

  3. Restart the assabet, and quickly press the Spacebar.

    You should see a boot prompt in your communications tool.

  4. If you need to upload a new kernel, enter 'load kernel' and use XModem to send ~/kernel/arch/arm/boot/zImage to the Assabet.

  5. At the prompt, enter 'load ramdisk' and use XModem to send ramdisk.img.gz

  6. Restart your Assabet.
